Coffee trees need a warm climate to grow. All major coffee-producing regions are near the equator and offer an ideal combination of rainfall, humidity, sunshine and rich soil.
A coffee tree needs five years to mature and produce its first crop. On average, a mature tree will produce between one to two pounds of green coffee beans every year.
It takes about 10,000 beans to make one pound of coffee and close to 100 beans to make one cup.
Van Houtte has launched a new Iced Cappuccino in a trendy plastic bottle and is made with real coffee, perfect for the summer. You can now win one of five exclusive coolers filled with 60 bottles of Iced Cappuccino. Beat the heat at work!
